Fantastic Show
This really is an amazing show.
Most of the 1976 shows I’ve heard are a bit on the slow side. Not this one. This one has tempo and energy right from the start, and it doesn’t let up.
This is one of those shows you should tell people to listen to when they complain about Donna’s voice. Her more gutteral style with the Grateful Dead in this period is contrasted sharply with her vocal abilities here. As usual, A Strange Man is pretty good evidence of her raw singing talent.
Everything here is great. Lonesome And A Long Way From Home turns into a long jam. Don’t Let Go veers off into a jam of its own. Every song is great, and everything sound wonderful.
Go for SHNID 101353, the best of the two options.
